Question

Premiere freezes on export whenever my sequence has audio

I'm having major issues with Premiere overall being slow, glitchy, crashy, and laggy, but the biggest problem by far is that I cannot export my video. If I press export, it freezes at 0% and never renders (regardless of whether using AME or Premiere to render). No mp4s or mp3s are used in this project.

I've found that I can render just fine as long as my audio in my output settings is turned OFF. However, I need a way to get audio for my video somehow. Whenever I try rendering as a wav, a ProRes with audio, or any other file that includes audio, I have the same issues again.

I have tried:

  • Moving my cache to a different disk

  • Doing a completely clean install of Premiere with all preferences removed

  • Updating my graphics driver

  • Disabling all plugins

  • Creating a new project and copying all my sequences into the new project

  • Deleting my cache

Extra info:

  • AMD Ryzen 9 5950X

  • RTX 3060 (studio driver installed)

  • 64GB RAM

  • Local SSD about 60% full

  • All assets stored on local SSD. I've tried caching on both my local and a fast external drive, and changing between either seemingly had no effect

Thanks, -n

What is your default audio input set to, in Premiere's preferences?

If anything but None, set the default input to None and see if that works.

Dang. That often fixes creeping crud.
