premiere freezing on detect scene edits for a slideshow vid

working w/ a nested sequence of 360 photographs

have tried 2x to detect and add scene cuts (since I can't figure out how to un-nest) and it freezes up completed. Even force quit doesn't work. right click close premiere from taskbar doesn't work. nothing selects or works, see screenshot.
