Premiere Interface Laggy on High End Macbook Pro

    So I just got the latest Macbook Pro, downloaded Premiere, created a 1080p project, put some clips on the timeline and instantly felt this insane lag when dragging clips aroud or scrolling through the timeline

    Scrubbing and replaying clips is perfectly smooth its just the interface that drives me nuts. I can make it a little more bearable if I decrease the timeline size to only 2 layers.

     Attached a screen recording showing the issue. 

Also to note its not just a timeline problem, its the whole interface working slow, doing any action gives me the beach ball.
