Question

Premiere is Locking/Hanging/Crashing when importing specific MP4 files.

This has been a problem on at least two PC's so far, one running Windows 8, the other running Windows 7.

Other files import just fine. These are MP4 files converted from .MKV files. (Because for some reason Adobe cannot support .MKV files.)

When the files are imported, The preview window will show the media pending message when it is clicked on. Premiere slows to a crawl, goes unresponsive, and eventually processes a single frame of the imported video.

Other MP4 files, and other video files, are importing just fine.

Compare a file that works to a file that doesn't

Exactly what is INSIDE the video you are editing?

Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below... A screen shot works well to SHOW people what you are doing - For Windows Internet Explorer press the PRINT SCREEN button on your keyboard, and then do CTRL-V to paste the screen print from the clipboard into a forum message
