Hello everyone,

I just accepted the brand new version of premiere. Well. Why?

Playback just got awfull. On a 4K timelin, the same I was using this afternoon, i can't even playbakc more thant 3seconds without huge lags and frameloss. How is that even happening in 2019? Sorry, 2020, Adobe is always ahead. (on paper)

Are you playing back H.264 long GOP media? Does the problem get better for a short time after clearing the Media Cache?

Nope, good old ProRes... Truied different codecs, still working slow. And now, the software tells me that it recommends METAL and shows open cl as Obsolete... But metal definitely is not good. Was not working before, still not optimized...

Sorry for the lack of details, been a bit upset by the loss of worktime. I'm on a i9, with a vega 64, 32gigs of ram, SSD's everywhere... Software responsibility makes no doubt as it was perfectly working 2 hours ago, before the update.

I'm just gonna have to downgrade. Again.

Yeah... I'm also on an i9, telling Premiere to use my Radeon Pro WX 9100, and my playback is abismal. I'm trying to cut interviews, and don't even care about dropped frames. My main gripe is that the audio cuts out after 5 seconds of playback, and sometimes I press play and Premiere just doesn't do anything. I can't really cut interviews like that!
