Premiere keeps crashing whole computer

I've been having trouble with this for a couple of months.  Premiere will freeze all of the sudden and I can't even move the cursor or open windows task manager.  I have to hard restart the computer.  I've tried updating and holding Alt to reset the preferences whenever I start the program.  Sometimes I can work for a few hours and it will be fine.  Other times it will only work for like 5 or 10 min.
