hello. I have the same problem but on WINDOWS 10 in Premiere and After Effects. I can't import .mov and .mp4. in AE I get an error:

'the following pluins have failed to load. please reinstall the plugins. ....media core plugins -  ImporterMPEG.prm / ImporterQuickTime.prm / ImporterWindowsMedia.prm . In Premiere I can't load any mp4/mov and I get the file is not supported. everything is on a clean install on windows 10 and clean adobe!! I have also tried to install quicktime (latest version) and same shit.... im going crazy.

ok so I fixed both issues in Pr and AE

I have installed Windows 10 PRO N so I tried the adding the Media Features first thing and still did not work.

After installing the newest version (APRIL) all is fixed! finally....

here's the link

I also met this issue before, I convert my mov files to mpeg-2 with the help of iDealshare VideoGo then successfully imported the converted files to premiere.

Hi All,

Sorry for the delay in response. The Green and Pink preview issue is under investigation; Engineering is working on a fix.

Please check this thread for workaround: Green and Pink Video in Premiere Pro 12.0.1 (Build 69)

Hi forrwhat,

What is the codec of the MOV file? You can use Mediainfo software to check it.

URL: MediaInfo

Thanks,

Vidya

Vidya

Here are three examples.

1. A clip from the CD that came with the 'Classroom in a Book' for PPro

CC 2015 'Mid Suit' from Theft Unexpected.

The jpeg is what it looks like when imported into PPro CC 2017.

The info is the export from Mediainfo.

2. A clip I made today with my Canon 70D

3. A clip from a friend's professional video camera.

PPro CS6 does not garble theses clips.

If it is to do with the Quicktime ban, it is curious that it affects

these clips in a PPro version released before the ban. If it isn't, then

what is it?

In any case, I can understand not supporting Quicktime for export, but

not supporting for import is criminal. I am certain that it has made

vast numbers of projects now worthless, unless one has the time and

expertise to transcode, laboriously, every original clip in every

project. Adobe has shot itself (and everyone else) in the foot.

That link is only for Windows 10 N systems.

Mine is a full Windows 10 and there appears to be no update to suit. Still can't load .mov files.

Anybody else have an idea?

Hi jamesm85745938,

What is the exact dot version of Premiere Pro you are on? Here are the steps: FAQ: How to find the exact version of Premiere Pro you're using?

If you are on Premiere Pro 12.1 or 12.1.1, it could be an issue with the dropped support of Quicktime 7 era codecs. Please check this article: Dropped support for Quicktime 7 era formats and codecs

Thanks,

Vidya

It is as you say, the latest version of Premiere Pro.

Can you let me have a version of the files that came with of your

Classroom in a Book which does import to P Pro, or can you let me know

how to make the old one work?

Unfortunately I'm working with Win7, SP1 on a corporate machine.  The Pr CC that the company owns is: 2015.0/v9.0.0(247).

When I import an MOV, I only get a mono Audio Track... yet, the properties of the imported clip are quoted below.

Is there a fix that I can accomplish without a download/install of a patch?  The corporate environment isn't friendly to running .exe on their machines without a lot of red tape...

Help?

Thx...

I HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM!!!

I saw on another blog--install QUICKTIME and the .MOV files will import both video and audio!  I'm on a PC, and Quicktime is no longer supported--therefore it had to be deleted.  I got permission from my IT Dept to install it... and SHAZAM!  The MOV files imported like they used to in CC5.

It must be an Apple Thing...

EERRMMEERRGGEERRDD i have been having this problem since the second i got PP and i have a camera from i weird company so i thought the problem was something to do with that or the fact that my mac is old (2012)

i am eternally grateful for your intellectual knowledge on PP troubleshooting

as a token of my appreciation here is a copy-n'-paste-able meme because they too are hard to find on the interwebs (much like the solution to this problem)

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

My mov files will play on my PC but when I import them into Premiere, it removes the video and only leaves an audio file.  These are mov files recorded from an Iphone.

.MOV files on my local drive seem to work fine but any files I try to work off of externally (all of my project files) will not work.
