Premiere preview and playback not working after opening After Effects

Hi all,

I'm working on a video in premiere pro with some after effects compositions in the timeline. Yesterday I imported one and premiere suddenly stopped previewing or playing anything. I deleted the Ae sequence, restarted the apps and computer, tried swithcing up the audio hardware settings, but it only started working again after going back to an older auto-save file from before loading the sequence. I fixed around it by exporting that specific sequence and importing the .mov.

Today I needed another Animation in the video but now I have the same problem but even after only opening the After Effects file that's linked.

So now I'm planning on going back to an older save and replacing all AE sequences I used in premiere. But this isn't ideal.

Everything is up to date according to creative cloud and use a new macbook pro from november 2023 with 36 GB RAM and the M3 chip.

Instead of using Dynamic Link, export the AE file and hen import into Premier Pro.

Hi there!

Sorry about the issue. Which version of both the application are you using? Could you try to copy your project and paste it into a new one?

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

KR
