Premiere Pro 100% RAM usage, when playing a video in the project tab. Then crashes

Hello! Premiere Pro 2023 and 2024 is using all of my RAM, freezing, then crashing. I have tried limiting the RAM used to 8gb and after not working I tried removing the limit, i then removed the limit the result was the same. I then uninstalled Premiere Pro 2023 and upgraded to Premiere Pro 2024, same problem. Yesterday it was working fine. My PC specs are. R9 6900, 6700S 8GB VRAM, 16 GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD with about 200gb empty space. What should I do? Should I try downgrading to 2022? Thanks!

    Sorry about the trouble. Have you tried resetting preference and deleting cache files?
