Premiere Pro 2019 - Voiceover Dropouts....

I upgraded to Premiere Pro 2019 recently and now I am suddenly getting dropouts in my voiceovers.

I record a variety of video captures from an iPad, cover them to MP4, and import them to my project.  Next up is editing, moving things about a bit, and clearing any gaps.  All pretty straightforward.

At that point, I set the voiceover feature on a separate audio channel to use my Scarlett Solo mic and record my narrative portion as the video scrolls by.  This is where things seem to go awry; for whatever reason, there will be audio drop outs, as I am speaking, in the final audio track.  Everything seems to keep going (no pause in the counter) but, once I wrap post and export to media for upload, there will be one or more spots in the video where a couple seconds of my audio track just vanishes.  What's really odd is that there's no gap - I'm just talking and, mid-word, it cuts to another word a few seconds later.  The other audio tracks are fine - no changes or drop outs, audio is still synched with video...it's just the voiceover track.

This only just started happening after the upgrade to PPCC2019.  I'm guessing there's a new feature, switch, or something similar that is causing it but I can't for the life of me figure it out and I have not seen any other posts on the forum that are helping me find it.  Any suggestions?
