Hi

When I import a video into the timeline the video its glitched and distorted, then the software doesn't let me import other media, so it's basically useless.

Same problem with Premiere Rush.

Thanks.

First, your playback resolution is set to 1/4, that's in the lower right of the Program monitor panel. That's kinda low, but still shouldn't cause that image problem.

I've never seen anything chopped up like this, it looks like it's repeating a few pixel section horizontally up about 20 times. Weird!

And normally if there's a graphics card problem, the suggestion is to try Software only, but you're already on that.

I'm rather stumped here ... not seen that issue before. I do think there's something odd going on with your graphics setup. You should be able to set that to CUDA for Mercury Software Acceleration in the Project settings dialog. See how it works.

Another thing ... take one of the clips, and run it through HandBrake to re-encode it, and see if that works better in Premiere.

Hi

Handbrake solved this issue, thanks for your help!

Glad that worked ... apparently something in the original encoding process for those files is off from what Premiere expects.

Handbrake can batch-process a whole folder or selected group of files, which can help speed things along also.

No way to even start to help, as you haven't provided any useful information. We can't guess, you know?

What is your hardware, the computer and parts like GPU? What is your Mercury Acceleration setting in the Project dialog? What media are you working with, created by what? Where does that media "live" in your machine?

And a screen-grab image of the distorted clip on a timeline showing the timeline and program monitor panel would be useful. Drag/drop onto your reply or upload using the picture icon on the formatting bar. Then ... we could help get this sorted out.
