Premiere Pro 2020 freezes then crashes my MACBook Pro

Hello Adobe Community.

- Premiere pro instantly freezes after importing a clip. This will then restart the mac

- I've tried importing mov/mp4/h264 with the same results 

- Also cleared media cashe and trashed preferences .

working off of:

macOS Catalina

10.15.6

Macbook Pro 16' 2019

2.3GHz 8 core intel Core i9

16GB 2667 MHz DDR4 

Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

    For me updating to Big Sur did the trick...

    try creating a new user account with administrative privileges in system preferences:  users and groups.  If the problem goes away when logged in to the new account, that probably indicates that a software installation from another program has created a conflict with premiere.
