After updating to Catalina, Premiere Pro will not launch.  I have loaded and uninstalled PR2019 several times.  Same problem and reports sent. Uninstalled it and installed PR2019 from scratch.  Same problem report sent.

MAC resource:

Processor: 1.1Ghz Dual-Core Intel Core M

Memory: 8GB  1600 MHZ DDR3

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 5300 1536 MB

Kevin,

Thank you for your time and information.  I will give it a try but if this doesn't work I will use Final Cut Pro.  I love the Adobe apps and use Illustrator and Photoshop daily.  After updating the OS, only Premium Pro refused to work.

James,

You likely need new hardware, but Premiere Pro should launch. Try this. My advice, though, is to stick to an earlier version and earlier OS that suits your machine better.

Thanks,
Kevin

When I have this issue, I open up task manager, and end the Adobe Premiere Background Process. Able to relaunch after that.

Actually, it does NOT meet minimum hardware requirements for either version of Premiere Pro. You see, although your system was purchased new in 2016 or later, its CPU platform actually dates back over a year earlier than that. It is a Broadwell platform - but Premiere Pro 2019 and 2020 now requires a Skylake or later generation CPU platform in order to run properly.

Did you try holding the Option key down when launching? This will reset preferences to default. They may have been corrupted in the upgrade.
