Question

Premiere Pro 2024 crashing on Windows 10 when any 'Open File' dialog is used.

Hi All,

I'm on Premiere 24.6.5 with Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2.

With any file operation that uses the 'Open File' dialog (or 'Save File' for that matter) Premiere immediately crashes. This includes operations such as File > Import or Export.

I've tried the 'sfc /scannow' option in the Command Prompt as well as uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere but neither of these options fixes it.

Any ideas?

@Rach McIntire Yes - I did hit Send Report yesterday, and have just recreated the bug and done it again just now. The email in this community is definitely the one I'm registered with in Adobe - but we are on a site license if that makes a difference.

Hi @Grant Sundin,
Thanks for the video!  Did you hit Send on the Send Report screen? I'm not seeing anything in our system associated with your email, but if you use a different email for your Creative Cloud account, please DM me, and I can look it up in our system to see what's going on.

Unfortunately no joy. I reset all preferences and deleted the media cache and it's still happening. Fell over immediately when I tried to browse to my production. Expecting I'll just be able to double-click on the project I want to get around that but no joy. I'll do a screen recording and send in a new post.

Hi @Grant Sundin

Welcome to the Premiere Pro forums!  We’re happy you’ve reached out. Did Ann's suggestions help?

If not, when you reopen Premiere, does it give you the option to Send Report to Adobe? Could you send a screen recording of the behavior? Sorry for the frustration, and thanks for reaching out.

No, thanks. I'll give that a go.

Tried trashing preferences and clearing media cache?
