Premiere Pro 2025 Fehler import JPG Foto

Import photo jpg files to Premiere Pro 2025 works, but some files only show black in the timeline/preview window!

This error does not occur with other jpg's in the same timeline. The photos were copied from the apple photo app to a directory on my desktop and then moved into the Premiere project window with the mouse and then inserted into the timeline.

After I tried different things and nothing helped, such as: new test project classic import, sequence from file...etc.

It still stayed black, then I saved the jpg again with a photo editor and then it worked... Has anyone experienced the same thing and knows the reason for this error?

I always convert jpeg to psd before importing into Premiere Pro.

Hi, yes of course that works and is a good idea, but each file grows many times over. Then PNG/TIF would be better if you work with layers and/or alpha masks, greetings Alex

There are several different types and formats of most image files. Some jpg files work ok in Premiere, some don't. It's the same across all video post apps I've worked with. You need to keep track of what types of what files work in each app.

Yep ... always have.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

Must be something about those images Premiere does not like.

That is usually the way to go if images are not previewed correctly.

Hey Ann, thanks for your answer. I also suspected that the photo "liveView" (in the photo app) might need to be turned off, but that didn't work either. There is simply no discernible pattern! Everything works in the Apple Photo app and nothing indicates an error. Adobe likes certain files and not some?!? That would definitely be a bug in the program. The error must be somewhere in the import or the photo app is not working properly when importing from my iPhone... strange error
