Premiere Pro 2026 keeps crashing when I stop voiceover-recording

Question

Hi.I have a Sennheiser-microfone connected to my Windows11-PC via Behringer mixer XENYX1204 USBand used the setup for years without any problems. In my current project (Premiere Pro 26.3.0 Build 93)Premiere suddenly keeps crashing, once I stop the voice-over-recording. I cleaned the medicace already. I use MME and the Mikrofon (USB Audio CODEC) as my input. Output is Deckling Studio 4K.I also tried Premiere Pro 25 an the program also crashes. Exactly the same settings worked on a project I finished 4 weeks ago. Any ideas?? Thanks Caroline,I think the settings got mixed up after an Windows-Update. I checked every single setting of Windows and deactivated a lot of in- and outputs. I also deactivated the exlusive use of the in- and output and changed the USB-cable of the mixer. I can`t exactly say, what made the difference, but now it is working like before.Thanks for the quick response.Timm

Hey Timm, sorry for the frustration while recording your voiceover. Here are a few things we can try.

Reset the app's preferences. After you reset the app, you may have to go adjust your Audio Hardware settings in order to re-add the inputs. On Windows, use the toolbar at the top to go to Edit>Settings/Preferences>Audio Hardware
When launching Premiere, right-click it and select Run as Administrator. This will eliminate the possibility of a permissions-related error when communicating with your input/output.
