Premiere Pro 25.2.1 Ripple Trim to Playhead No Longer Functions Properly

In the most recent update (24.2.1), ripple trim to playhead is not functioning properly or consistently. I do not currently have the issue on my other computer (in the same project). I am not even entirely sure what is happening. When I ripple trim to playhead (either the previous or next edit), an inconsistent number of clips are deleted up until a certain point. I've tried restarting premiere, my computer, etc. and nothing is working.

1. Editing clips on video layer 1

2. Find preferred ending point for a clip

3. Press 2 (my preferred hotkey for "ripple trim next edit to playhead")

4. It does not trim the clip to the preffered location, but deletes a number of clips/parts of clips until it gets to an adjustment layer on video layer 2

This didn't used to happen in any previous versions of Premiere Pro. I have the Mister Horse Premiere Composer plugin installed but that's it (I use it for transitions and stuff). I have a GIGABYTE - AORUS 16X (2024) Gaming Laptop with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 - Intel i7-14650HX - 1TB SSD with 32GB DDR5 RAM.

Hi @Red Rover Videography,

Thank you for submitting your bug report and sorry you're experiencing issues.

I don't have a full picture of your entire timeline but it seems like you have the V2 and A2 tracks targeted (highlighted blue), which is why the ripple trim might be occuring up to the next clip/adjustment layer on those tracks instead. If you are looking to have the edit happen to V1 and A1, does highlighting those tracks create the edit you want?

Sorry for the frustration,
Dani
