Premiere Pro 5.5 Mac crashes on opening any project

Premiere Pro 5.5 did work just fine on my Mac Mini 2012 with 16 GB RAM. 2 weeks ago it stopped working. Now it crashes everytime I try to open any project. I can even create a new empty project, save it, try to open it and Premiere will crash. I tried the "don't load workspace from project" trick, I uninstalled premiere completely but nothing worked. My other Adobe apps work fine (CS6 Design Suite, Audition CS 5.5). Does anybody know how I can work with Premiere again or if I have to switch to Final Cut Pro X?
