Premiere Pro and Media Encoder crash on any attempt to render video

Doesn't matter what codec is used, doesn't matter how big the actual video is. Anytime I attempt to render any video files through either Premiere or Media Encoder it crashes my system by skyrocketing the RAM usage to well over 100gb. This issue didn't exist with v24 and earlier but has been a problem with v25 and persists with the most recent v26. Does anyone have any solutions or or possible ways to troubleshoot. I'm likely to quit the product altogether over this.
