Premiere pro app shortcut has disappeared on Mac book from dock and applications

On my Mac book pro the premiere pro shortcut has recently disappeared after an update, its not in my dock, app launcher or on my desktop, but my other apps like after effects and photoshop are still there. The only way to access premiere pro now is going through creative cloud which is annoying.

Is there a way to get the application shortcut back in my dock or on my desktop? I’ve tried dragging the app from creative cloud and uninstalling and reinstalling the app but none of these worked

While in the Finder, choose Go > Applications.  Navigate the the Adobe Premiere Pro folder and then drag and drop the Premiere Pro application to the Dock.

Adding it back to the Launchpad can be tricky if you use a version of macOS that uses that.

If using Tahoe, you can use the App Launcher or Spotlight.  https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/open-apps-in-spotlight-mh35840/mac

It had disappeared from the applications folder as well and the drag and drop method  this did not work. You can count on adobe to make things difficult and have random things happen for no reason with updates.

But I got it sorted than you

I’m a PC guy only, but I’m surprised it so difficult to create a desktop icon for a Mac. I was recently  (this week) annoyed at the message prompts Apple TV* kept giving me, the wording was at a very low level, so, that sort of cemented the Mac experience for me. With a PC, from the app folder (.exe) file, right-click and drop on the desktop, and select Create Shortcut.

Hi @MyerPj it is exactly the same as PC. I gave instructions for adding the icon to the dock, the same instructions more or less are relevant to the PC as well. As for adding shortcut to desktop it is again the same drag the app icon from the installed directory to the desktop and you are all set.

Yeah, the Task Bar and the Dock are very similar as well as making a Shortcut/Alias for a program/application.

This should not be a problem. Open your app and it will pop up the app icon on the dock, right click on this icon and select the option to keep it in dock.
