Premiere Pro Audio Waves

Out of nowhere I started getting this issue recently and I can not seem to solve it. After importing new videos to any project, audio waveforms do not generate. I read thru the old community post about how to solve this from several years ago to no avail. Extremely frustrated and ready to delete Premiere Pro. Hopefully someone can help me out. Below is the old thread I'm refering to. All those simple things do not solve my problem. I tried new videos, uninstalling premiere pro and installing an older version from months ago and so on. This also started showing up after I noticed I was trying to solve another problem. Audio would work fine and wave forms were still working. After exporting my audio was all robotic and distorted. Went thru changes for that and now I'm here.

For robotic and distorted audio it may help to go to Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware and then set Default Input to No Input.

I got the Audio Wave Form issue solved. Now I tried exporting and still the same issue as for as a robotic/distorted sound. The audio sounds perfectly fine from the orginal recording outside of Premiere Pro. I import it into Premiere and it still sounds fine. After Export, that's when this problem occurs. To confirm, I did change audio hardware to no input.

One more thing to check with the audio is it´s bit depth and sample rate vs the bit depth and sample rate in Premiere Pro and the settings you export to. For example, if you import 16-bit/48 kHz audio into a 16-bit/48 kHz timeline and export as 16-bit/48 kHz it should work. However, if you import 32-bit/96 kHz audio into a 16-bit/48 kHz timeline and export as 16-bit/48 kHz or 16-bit/44.1 Khz trouble can occur. Aim for matching bit depth and sample rates, always.

 

Have you added any audio effects for the audio in PremierePro?

Hold down the Shift-key and launch Premiere Pro. You will get the Reset options dialog so check Clear media cache files and click Continue. This solves the issue/s you have 9,8 times out of 10.
