Premiere Pro CC 2015 not reading .MXF files

Hi i am have some trouble with premiere pro CC 2015, i am trying to import an .MXF file but it keeps on saying that it is damaged or unsupported, however i though that it was damaged so i recorded it again but it still doesnt work. I tried doing the same thing on my friends PC and it all worked fine. Anyone got any solution for this issue? please let me know

Delete media cache as show below:

Rename top folder footage is in.

Try again.

If its camera footage make sure the entire card is copied to the hdd first.

With tapeless media, the protocol is to copy the entire card to the hard drive.  That data typically goes into a project folder.  For myself, I might call it Smith Wedding, or Jones Pizza Parlor.

When you rename the folder containing the card's data, it forces PP to see the media as new and different.  This often solves many glitches with media.

The caution is to only rename the top level Smith or Jones folder.  Don't change anything copied from the card itself.  That needs to remain intact for proper operation.
