Premiere Pro CC 2017 – slow?

After updating to the 2017 version, Premiere has become very slow. When I change the position of a still image, it takes several seconds before the Program Monitor is updated. (An example: for a 14 mb jpg it takes 6-7 seconds.) Any suggestions what could be the matter?

Make the jpeg twice the size of the frame.

Thanks for the suggestion. Reducing the image size made quite a difference. I hadn't imagined that 14 mb would cause any problems.

I don't believe I rebooted the computer right before updating, but I've done so several times after.
