So you're only going to reply to the one user?

Here:
Brand new, 3 month old, fusion drive 27" iMacs...crippled with the same issue.

Tried all the posted tips and tricks to no avail.

    FYI...

my issue was solved by Adobe support.

It took awhile but the technician was very patient and pinpointed the issue to...

    <drumroll>

    PNG files.

Removal of PNG files being used in the production immediately stopped the crashing.

I can't explain why and won't go into the "but... but... but" conversation on this one...

just know this could be an issue.

Hoping this helps someone out there.

    Hi richards,

It's difficult to get to every post. If you need immediate assistance, contact our agents. My goal is to answer the OP's question so that it solves everyones issue at the same time. Ideally, anyway.

Have you tried a brand new project? Are you on Sierra or High Sierra? Have you tried repairing Adobe folder permissions as I've outlined? Have you tried a new user account?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Hi,

After more than 8 hrs working with Adobe support, we found a fix for my constant crashes, beachballs and slow scrubbing, playback etc.

The problem seemed to be the project.

    What we did:

    with the project open,

File / Export / Final Cut Pro XML

Save to new folder. (it beachballed but finally worked. It took ages)

    Create new project.

File / Import / Select XML and enter. (again, took ages, but finally worked)

The project worked perfectly, and i've not had any problems since.

Apologies for the lack of technical info. Hope that helps someone.

I like premiere, but I am about ready to bail on it because it is so prone to crash. Argh!

Same here. I thought i fixed the crashing, then, low and behold, trying to simply use the audio panel, CRASH. CRASH. CRASH.
