Premiere Pro CC (2018) not recognising Dynamic Links from After Effects (2018)

Just updated all CC products to 2018 versions.

Opened a Premiere Pro CC file that was working fine yesterday in the 2017 version.

Now all my dynamic link files from After Effects 2018 have a cross through them in the top left menu and all say Media Offline when I scroll over them in Timeline.

I have succeeded in getting a dynamic link to work by re-importing a file and adding it to timeline. But I shouldn’t have to be doing this!

Please fix this problem ASAP and, in the meantime, what is the best workaround?

I have started a new project in Premiere Pro, and Even just "replace with after effects composition" doesn't even work.  It just opens up aftereffects onto a blank composition, even with aftereffect running at the time. The Dynamic Link just isn't working.

I am having the same problems as I decided not to upgrade After Effects after I read there was a problem with AE 2018 and Mocha. I forgot to follow my golden rule to wait for the .1 upgrade.

Hi. Please try to rename folder called dynamiclinkmanager to dynamiclinkmanager old under AppData\Roaming\Adobe. Open search - type run - open %appdata% this will direct you in the right folder. This worked for me

Same probleme here. My comp from AE arrive in Encoder but as the dynamic Link doesn't work is never rendering.
They really need to do something about it because export it in avi then again in h264 is really not a long terme option.

I'm having the same problem. I've saved an .mov from AE and have tried everything to import it into PS. No luck. Anyone have any ideas?

I have the same issue. I have tried restarting both progeams but still no luck. I had to export media file or premier pro project. Hope they will fix this soon!

I shouldn’t have to be doing this!

Actually, you kind of do.  Dynamic Link only works across the same version.  Those comps were created in the 2017 version of AE, so they will need replacing in the 2018 PP project.

    Hi Jim_Simon

Just to make it clear - I began by opening both the Premiere Pro CC 2017 file and the After Effects CC 2017 file and resaved them as 2018 versions. I’m not trying to mix and match a 2018 file with a 2017 file.

Surely I’m not the only one to expect that 2017 files would still remain compatible when all converted to 2018.

So, I repeat, I shouldn’t have to replace each dynamic link manually.

Upgrading the PP project file doesn't automatically replace the linked comps.  You do need to do that manually with the comps from the 2018 AE project file.
