Premiere Pro CC 2018 Won't Launch

Within the last two days Premiere Pro CC 2018 stopped launching, or if it did launch, would freeze on the splash screen, project screen, opening a project, or loading a project.

I have uninstalled/reinstalled, ensured PC software and drivers are up-to-date, restarted the PC and still nothing. I've ended every CC process and relaunched, but still nothing. I can't even open it by clicking on recent projects that I was working on two days ago. I'm not given options to send crash reports to Adobe either.

How can I get Premiere to launch/work properly again?

I'm using a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 with an Intel Core i5-6300U CPU @2.40GHz 2.5GHZ, 8GB of Ram, 64-bit operating system, running Windows 10 Pro.

Hi Kevin,

Yes and no. I can launch it but only in windows 8 Comparability mode. I normally run windows 10 Professional.

So, I kinda solved it but it feels more like a band aid than a full on solution.

thanks,

Cara

Hi I have had the same problem as you and I was able to fix it and all I did was I opened up task manager and I right clicked on premiere pro and ended process and opened premiere and it was fixed.

I am not able to launch Premiere Pro either.  I work on a PC with Windows 7 Pro.  I am a Creative Cloud subscriber and cannot launch Premiere Pro CC.

It is urgent that this is resolved as I have client projects to complete.

Having the same issue on a Mac running Sierra 10.12.3. Just updated to the latest version of Premiere and the application won't launch. It bounces a few times, shows the load screen for 2 seconds then stops.

It would awesome if y'all could release one version of updates without immediate bugs.

Same here. The most recent PP update wont open on our end as well.

this worked for me:

2. Backup the Preferences before next step(~/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/12.0/Profile-USER)

3. Rename the following list of folders to Old_foldername.

   ~/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/12.0

   ~/Library/Caches/Adobe/Premiere Pro/12.0

   ~/Library/Preference/com.Adobe.PremierePro.CC12.plist

   ~/Library/Saved Application State/com.Adobe.PremierePro.CC12.savedState

Note: All the above folders will be in the hidden library. Here are the steps to access it: Access hidden Mac OS library files

4. Empty trash

5. Reboot the machine.

Hi caran31796251,

Launch/open Premiere Pro by holding down shift + alt until splash screen.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks,

I am having this same issue as of today. Restarted, held down shift + alt... nothing is working. App is up to date as well.

Ideas?

This seemed to solve the problem so far - Premiere Pro cc2018 won't start anymore after latest update

As CRAIGVFX confirmed, the steps listed worked for me.
