Premiere Pro CC crashes when I change Light source settings from Canon Cinema RAW on my Mac Studio

Premiere Pro CC consistently crashes when I try to change Canon Cinema RAW light source settings (color temp, tint, exposure...) on my Mac Studio when I can do it on my Macbook with no problem! This is even more problematic for me since I invested in the Mac Studio because my macbook couldn't handle the weight of those files. Could there be an unresolved compliance issue with Mac Studio's hardware configuration, specifically the M1 chip?

Hello,

A quick update to confirm that the fix for this problem is not in the version of Premiere Pro that was just released (v23). However, it will be fixed in the next version. You can test out that fix in the beta of v23.1.

Thanks for reporting the issue!

Regards,

Fergus

Thank you very much for reporting this! We’ve been able to duplicate this problem and our engineering team is working on it now.

It appears that dragging the sliders in the Color Temperature, Tint, or Exposure fields causes the crash but typing values into those fields does not cause the crash. Would mind letting me know if you see the same thing? Of course, we're going to fix the crash when you use the sliders.

Hello Fergus, thank you for taking care of this problem! Indeed, I hadn't realized it but it also works on my Mac Studio by typing the values. Although the sliders remain essential to find the right value.

Best regards,

Franck

Thanks for the update. There is an update to Premiere Pro coming next month but my guess is that a fix for this problem won't make it into that release, as we're almost done with it and we generally don't like to rush bug fixes in at the last minute. However, if that changes, I will let you know.

Fergus

I forgot to mention that the RAW files are from the Canon R5C
