Premiere Pro CC Playback freeze

Before we get into it, I'll first say this...

Windows 10

Intel i7 4790K Processor

MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Motherboard

Gigabyte Geforce R9 390X times two running in crossfire mode

4X 8GB Vengeance DDR3 Ram (Total of 32GB)

Samsung M.2 850 EVO 500gb SSD (System)

Samsung SATA 750 EVO 500gb SSD (Cache/Memory)

Ok... I have been through this forum over and over with zero success. My specific problem is the video playback will freeze after 5 to 10 minutes. No... It is not autosave. The strange thing is that I still have audio playback and I can still move clips around in my edit window with no hangups. The only thing that is affected is the playback preview window (video only). I have to shutdown Premiere, go into task manager, end task, and restart Premiere to get rid of the problem. Then I only get 10 minutes and it starts all over again. I have already been through the clean cache, ctrl/shift when starting, and a bunch of other stuff with no luck. Am I missing something? I already checked on GPU compatibility and Adobe said that my cards are fine. This system is crazy fast with everything else but Premiere hates it for some reason. I can barely do any work.

Format is 422 Pro Res. Merc is set to software only. Open CL was worse.

    Sticksthedrummer,

Which drive is the media playing from? What kind of media is it?

    Thanks,

    Kevin

    Hey Kevin,

Media is playing from an extrenal SSD Western Digital That is reading through usb 3.0 port. I was originally playing it from an HDD and saw no change after the transfer. Media is 1080p footage from a Blackmagic Pocket Camera.

    Hi Sticksthedrummer,

Is this CinemaDNG, ProRes 422, which?

How is Mercury Playback Engine set? Can you try Software Only?

Finally, you can contact support. Ask for the video queue.

    Thanks,

    Kevin

Adobe said that my cards are fine.

I would still be inclined to switch to nVidia.

Plenty of guys using these cards and getting great results. It's not the cards.
