Premiere Pro CC won't read Avid MXF Files

I've just installed Premixer Pro CC on my PC, an HP Z400 with 16Gb RAM, which is currently running Avid MC vs7 with no problems. According to all the documentation Premiere Pro is supposed to seamlessly read Avid MXF files already on my system. I've exported a simple sequence as an AAF linked to the Avid media and imported it into Premiere Pro. The audio comes across OK, But the video files show as offline. When I try and encode an Avid sequence through Media Encoder via a QuickTime reference file from Avid, Media Encoder tells me it doesn't have the right codec. Another editor with both Avid and Premiere Pro can do all these things on his system. Can anyone help please?

Hi steven,

I see a similar issue here: MXF-Import gets Error

Can you upload a sample file I can test?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Yes, I'd be happy to upload a test file, where do I send it?

Hi,

i have similar problems.
Changed the Computer from a MAC where the MXF from an imported AVID-Project got read without problems,
to now a new PC with Windows 10 and PR CC tells me, regarding to some of the MXF, that it can not import them.
The Project is big and i have to change the computer, so i would be glad to get a solution.

have you relinked the media from the aaf to the mxf  media files?

I have tried but get an error: The importer has logged a generic error.

You may need to go to Avid and do the free download of the DNxHd/R codec set. That has been useful for some with this.
