Premiere Pro crashes every time I edit captions text on brand new Mac Studio M1 Max

I am working on a brand new 2022 Mac studio M1 Max running Monterey 12.5, and Premiere version 22.5. I am having no issues with the auto transcribe and create captions track. But as soon as I start to edit text some of the captions, Premiere crashes spinning wheel, stuck. I have to force quit. I am finding posts with other editors having the same issues. Is there a workaround? I'm having to use my intel imac just for captions.

As Kevin says, you can check the Beta to confirm this is fixed. However, unrelated to this problem, the current Beta (23.0.0 Build 19) is unstable. You should wait until at least build 20 for install. See this post:

You can install the Beta version and keep your regular release versions installed.

 

Be aware that the 23.0.0 version will be a new PR project file version, so work done in the Beta will NOT open in the previous versions (e.g. 22.5).

I'll just wait for the next update and use my old intel imac for now when needed.  Hopefully you guys get the bugs worked out as I'm having many issues since switching to the new mac studio m1 max.

    I don't have a solution for this. Have you tried editing in both of the methods: in the Text Panel and in the Program Monitor? With the Text Panel closed?

    Do you have the scrubbing issue as well, or only if you enter edit mode?

     

    I'm glad you have the intel backup till this is fixed!

     

    @Kevin-Monahan Do we have any status on the bug report you filed? Is this in uservoice where it can be upvoted?
