Premiere Pro freezes

Hi.

I've been having this issue quite a lot for a long time. Sometimes it's worse than other times.
I work with GH5 video recorded in 4K 8bit H.264.

It accurs when I make clips shorter or longer on the time line. Also happens when I use the slip tool to move forth and back in a clip.

I have recently done windows re-install and I have the latest drivers for everything, even the studio ready drivers for the GPU. I also did a DDU-clean before installing the latest GPU studio drivers.

Here is an example where the issue starts just a few min into editing in a video.

PC SPECS:
Intel i9 9920x
Nvidia 3070
128gb DDR4
MSI x299 SLI PLUS motherboard.
Separate SSD disks for windows, cache and video storage.

@goffemannen I wonder if it had something to do with the recently update from Windows? The security patch for your Windows? It's been wrecking havoc for many PC users. Rolling back is currently the most effective solution and is the primary workaround recommended by both Adobe and Microsoft until a permanent patch is released. I would uninstall the last security update (KB5074109), and soon as it is done, restart your PC. And try installing th previous version — this maybe your issue?

Hi goffemannen,

Thanks for the detailed report & sorry about the poor experience. We will get it checked. Could you please confirm whether this is happening only with this specific project or with new projects as well? Also, is H264/HEVC hardware accelerated decoding & encoding enabled under Edit > Preferences > Media?

Regards,

Sumeet

It has happened with other projects, not just this one.

Yes, it's on.
