Premiere Pro freezes when trying to export

Whenever I'm trying to export a video, no matter what resolution I choose, the export will stop at a random percentage and freeze the entire app. I have already reinstalled the app, cleared the cache and unchecked the boxes "hardware accelerated decoding", but without any luck. Any other ideas on how to fix this problem?

    I fixed it by choosing Project Settings > General > Renderer > Mercury Playback Engine (Software Only).
