Question

Premiere Pro huge lag when using a gradient picture

Hey everyone,

I notice an awkaward bug when I'm using a picture with a gradient in my sequency.
I tried to convert the PSD file in PNG, even JPG in low quality and I still have the trouble.
I'm using a M1 Pro Macbook Pro 16 inch with 16Go RAM.

Really awkaward, 10 bits HDR 4K playbacks like a charm but a small JPG fill makes everything laggy.

Thanks a lot !

what format is your camera original and what are your sequence settings?  4K can be difficult for an underpowered system (for all of apple's grandious claims about how apple silicon handles RAM) and HEVC files in particular are difficult for even high powered systems to handle...  Transocding to a better "mezzanine" format like prores can help a great deal, and minimally using a proxy format can get you over the hump.  The proxy workflow in premiere works great, but it can be somewhat daunting to get your head around...  Post back with any questions.

Does the image fit the sequence settings?
