Premiere Pro keeps crashing on Win11 with AMD GPU

Premiere Pro crashes unexpectedly on Win11 with Amd Graphics Card

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Premiere Pro
2. Open up a project (only .mp4 videos)
3. Everything goes well in the beginning and after aprox 15m everything crashes

Key details:

  • There is no trigger to it, it just randomly does that although I have a high-end pc.
  • This applies to all projects and I have NEVER used Premiere Pro without having it crash on me, not even once.
  • Video Rendering: Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (OpenCL)
  • Sometimes it crashes and other times my pc fully crashes.
  • I never keep RAM, CPU, or GPU hungry applications while Premiere Pro is running
  • I usually only have my browser running in conjunction with Premiere Pro.

Version 26.3.0 (Build 93)

OS:
Windows 11 Pro N, Version: 25H2

Specs:
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 7500F 6-Core Processor (3.7GHz)
RAM: 32.0 GB DDR5
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 6800 (16GB)
350GB of storage left, could be turned into 800GB if needed(moving over files to an external hard drive).

    @caroline_edits I would hug you through my screen if I could, I ran the memory diagnostics tool and my MEMORY is the problem.

     

    For now it seems that the problem is with my hardware and not with Premiere Pro. I have had a few other instances where my pc has crashed but I did not think that it was connected to this problem until yesterday when I ran a game and my pc crashed, I was surprised that my entire PC started slowing down and then I connected the dots, luckily I checked your reply before going on my own adventure to do all of the checks. 

     

    I will come back and reach out once I have swapped out the RAM sticks or located the faulty one. Thanks a bunch!

    Thanks for the report. This issue should be fixed in 26.3. Can you try a clean reinstall of your AMD driver? This link may help you: https://adobe.ly/4gOeDoe. Let me know if you are back up and running after trying this.

    I have reinstalled my AMD drivers twice and it seems the drivers are not the problem as my Premiere Pro crashed 2 minutes ago.

    Thanks for checking on a fresh driver. Can you please confirm which version of Premiere you’re using? The crash & .dmp file you shared say you’re on 26.0 but we think we have a fix for this in 26.3. Here’s how to check for updates. 

    If you’re definitely on 26.3, let us know more about your project. Are you using Transcriptions? Does it seem to crash around the point where you generate transcriptions for your project?

    Some other options might be trying the beta version of Premiere or reinstalling an older version.

    Really sorry for the frustration. We’ll get this solved. Keep us posted.
