Premiere Pro Lagging When Dragging Images Around Program Monitor

I'm a beginner at Premiere Pro, and I've been working on a project. I've started having terrible lagging when dragging images across the program monitor.

Playback seems to work without any trouble.

I have several images and several layers of video that all appear on the program monitor at the same time.

I have an Intel Core i7-10700, 32 GB of RAM, and an SSD. I'm using the integrated graphics card.

I'm not quite sure how to begin troubleshooting.

For anyone else who has this issue, I managed to resolve it.

Originally, I was importing stock photos at high resolution and then scaling them down in size. That was using a lot of processing power.

I tried scaling them down in Photoshop, saving them, and then importing the scaled-down photos.

Using the scaled-down photos instead of the high-resolution photos resolved the problem.

I'm having the same problem now since the last update.. even with low res pictures. The more updates I do, the more Premiere Pro becomes laggy, it's supposed to be the opposite but well, it's Adobe.

Delete the Media Cache and Media Cache files:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the preferences:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

If that doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site. If NVIDIA, do a clean installation of the latest Studio Driver (NOT the Game Driver).

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

What is the Paused Resolution set to? It's probably at Full. Try 1/2 or 1/4 for it to be more responsive. Of course, the trade-off is the lower image quality.

I tried setting it to 1/8, but it is still lagging.
