Premiere Pro? More like Premiere Slow. Have upgrades made it even slower? ...if possible

Jeez Premiere Pro playback is like a snail v the race horse that is Davinci resolve. Recent upgrades seemed to have made it even slower. It's painful to use after Davince Resolve tbh I'm using the same P Pro files as a few months ago and the playback is impossible most of the time, hanging for ages on a frame - dire

I think most of us are getting the better playback ... I am, even on my old laptop. But some are getting total crud like you seem to be. And it can come from several issues.

So giving details of the system, media, and effects used is helpful. A fair number of folks have gotten bad playback going with some help.
