Question

Premiere Pro not exporting

Premiere Pro used to not export anything every now and then but now it’s pretty much all the time. When I send something to Media Encoder it doesn’t even register and when I try to export in Premiere it will either export a 5 second MP3 for about half an hour or just won’t do anything at all.

I have tried absolutely everything but with no hope. I’ve got a very urgent deadline and so much to do, it’s so crazy for the amount that we spend on the Adobe Suite.

A huge part of my editing job is also exporting from After Effects which is also doing nothing at all.

I’ve deleted my cache a million times, tried editing the project in a new sequence, messed with every setting you can imagine.

The only thing that works is to work from a new user which has it’s own issues as most of my workflow includes things that I don’t know how to send to another user so working from the other user has also been really difficult.

I’m on an Apple M3 Max, 48GB, using Sequoia 15.3.2 and version 26.3.0 of Premiere Pro

I have seen this happen with a long nested sequence that is then cut up throughout the main sequence. It can happen because Premiere Pro needs to render all the audio of the nested sequence before it can start rendering the main sequence, and it can get stuck.

It may help to run Sequence > Render Audio in the main sequence, then export directly through Premiere Pro (not Media Encoder).

Another option is to export all the audio of your nested sequence as a .wav file, add it to a new track in the nested sequence, and mute all the other audio tracks. That way, Premiere Pro doesn't need to do as much processing before it exports.

Does it keep stopping at the same spot? Perhaps you have a corrupt video file in your timeline.

    It often doesn’t even start.

Could you tell us more about your timeline?

    • How complex is it?
    • Are there any nested sequences?
    • Are you using Dynamic Link?
    • What effects are involved?
    • What format and codec are you exporting to?

We can't help troubleshoot this without more information.

Somewhat complex, decent amount of nests and effects, no dynamic linking as that’s a nightmare, just a lot of transform effects. It does this no matter what format or codec I export to
