Premiere Pro not opening after the last update

Hi guys,

I really need your help. This morning I updated Premiere Pro CC 2019 and now I can't open it.

Sometimes I get the splash screen, sometimes I don't, but after a few minutes I have to kill the process because nothing happens.

I tried cleaning the cache, cleaning the media files folder, running the app as administrator but nothing worked.

Here's some general information about my PC:

- OS: Windows 10

- CPU: Intel Core i7 - 4790

- RAM: 16 GB

- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 970 with the latest driver (updated this morning too)

(I know the hardware it's outmoded but I'm building a new custom PC and it will be ready at the end on May)

Just an update: after one day of trials and errors I was able to reinstall the previous version of Premiere Pro. Now it works just fine but I can't update to the latest version. I guess I will have to wait for the next one.

lareservecc I hope this solution can help you too.

Anyway, if someone figure out how to solve the issue with the latest update, please let me know

I have a similar issue. As of today, Adobe Premiere doesn't load any longer. The main difference is that the computer hangs with 100% disk usage and causes the machine to freeze, then reboot at some point.

I have tried:

1. uninstall adobe creative cloud desktop app and all applications (adobe premiere, media encoder etc.) using adobe cleanup application

2. run as administrator

3. clean-up the profile with alt+shift when starting adobe premiere

When I start Adobe Premiere, it hangs on ImporterPhotoshopProxy.prm which I have temporarily removed to see if I had any further success. In this case, Adobe launches but requires Internet to validate I have a genuine copy. As soon as I plug the cable again, computer freezes again.

I may add that the hangs also happen with the creative cloud desktop app when it tries to refresh the app. I can prevent the computer freeze from happening if I disconnect form the Internet.

Right click on the Premiere Pro icon in the Start menu and choose Run as administrator.

If this fixes the issue i can provide you with details how to do it once and then forget about it.

Hi Averdahl, I already tried the Run as administrator solution but nothing changed

O.k, then i would have uninstalled Premiere Pro and then re-installing it.
