Premiere Pro Playback Error

Hello!

This may be an issue with my computer itself, but I wanted to see if it was just me being stupid.

Today my Premiere Pro started doing something weird. It happened all of a sudden with no pop ups. Whenever I load a project and either click on a clip to play, or drag a clip into the timeline, I can hear audio but there is no visual video playback whatsoever. The marker doesn't even move. I can't view anything in the "source" panel or "Program" panel and this is not specific to any one projects. It happens to whatever file I bring into the application. Other Adobe programs are working just fine. Am I missing anything?

Is this happing only in a certain project or in all the projects including new project?

And did you try resetting the preferences of premiere pro if not then try resetting the preferences as follow -

Here is how you can reset the preferences:

Press Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) while launching Premiere Pro. You can release the Alt key or Option key when the splash screen appears.
To reset preferences and plug-in cache at the same time, hold down Shift-Alt (Windows) or Shift-Option (Mac OS) while the application is starting. Release the Shift-Alt keys or Shift-Option key when the splash screen appears.

Hey to anyone who is reading,

I'm facing the same problem too, I could be able to drag my timeline frame by frame and it I can see the images playing but when I click on the play button nothing seems to happen and it froze at the stop button where i can stop the play. Later it will pop up as not responding forcing me to close premiere pro. I really hope someone could help cause i have deadline coming soon.

when I open my project Premiere forces me to save and open a copy, and gives me the playback Error. Adobe has also opened my premiere projects but goes unresponsive immediately. I work in the film and television industry and not having adobe keep up has been Huge effort for me to try and navigate to a final render/export.......

If you create a new Color Bars, does that play?

If I create a new Color Cars, it gets put into the right place in the "[project" panel, but it still does not play in the 'program" panel. I think it has something to do with playback source, but I've tried changing all of the options in Edit>Preferences>Playback with no luck.
