Premiere Pro plugin not rendering when High Quality Playback is disabled

Hi everyone,

I'm currently developing a plugin for Premiere Pro using the Adobe SDK, and I've run into an issue related to playback quality and rendering.

I’ve noticed the following behavior:

  • When High Quality Playback is enabled, the effect renders correctly.

  • When High Quality Playback is disabled, the effect is not rendered at all (it appears to be skipped entirely, not just degraded). But stop is good!

This makes me suspect that Premiere switches to a different render pipeline in low-quality playback.

I might not fully understand the plugin system yet, but I’ve run into an issue while experimenting with PF_OutFlag2_SUPPORTS_GPU_RENDER_F32.

It doesn’t seem to have any effect in my case, and I’m wondering if I might be missing something important.

Some AI suggestions mentioned that I may need to implement a CPU rendering path as well. However, my effect is designed to be fully GPU-based, so I assumed that shouldn’t be necessary.

Could this be the reason, or is there something else I should be aware of when using this flag?

I would really appreciate any guidance. Thank you!

@干5FFB You may want to post this in the Premiere Pro forum and not Acrobat Pro (two very different programs!)
