Premiere Pro Refund?

I have been paying for a monthly subscription for Premiere Pro since August 2017. However I did not realise that I was paying for this until last week. I called Adobe and cancelled the plan and when I asked about a refund they informed me that it would not be possible to refund the 7 payments of £30 I had made since August since the monthly subscriptions are non-refundable. They also said that since premiere pro had been active and used on my device, they could not refund me. I have not been using premiere Pro however. My Suspicion is that I was on a month free trial and never cancelled and so began to get charged. Or I paid for 1 month, and didn't realise the subscription would continue after that month. Its hard for me to remember as this was a number of months ago but I believe I did use premiere pro for a month which is suppose would have been August. I don't know what step to take next or if there is a next step to try and seek a refund, can anyone help suggest what I should do?
