Mac Studio 2022

M1 Max/ 64GB/ Tahoe 26.1

I don’t know what changed between yesterday evening and this morning.  Nothing is set to auto-update.

All of a sudden this morning, I cannot launch Premiere Pro 2026.

I get the error Premiere Pro requires access to the following folder(s):

Downloads

Going to my preferences shows that PP 2026 has Full Disk Access

Going to my downloads folder shows that I have Read & Write Access.

I have restarted my system.  Beta appears to launch, but I will cause all sorts of problems if I move these projects to Beta.

I have three projects in various stages that need to deliver today, and I need help please.

Hi @RogerOverall - This is actually an apple macOS requirement.

Can you try navigating to the Privacy and Security > Full Disk Access and then remove Premiere from the list with the “-” sign at the bottom.  Then go back to Privacy and Security > Files and Folders and turn on “Downloads Folder” under Premiere

Same here. It already has grabbed full access. The option is greyed out in the Privacy & Security settings, and it’s set to Full Disk Access. Yet the app won’t start. I’m guessing Adobe did something sneaky overnight and as a consequence we’re locked out of Premiere Pro.

Modern versions of macOS have separate switches for “Files & Folders” which includes Desktop, Downloads, and Documents, and then “Full Disk Access”. Premiere is asking specifically for the “Downloads” folder found in the “Files & Folders” section. I'm not sure why, but Full Disk Access doesn’t always allow this.

Open System Settings, then go to Privacy & Security > Files & Folders, and find Premiere Pro 2026. Twirl it open and you should see Downloads folder there, turned off. Turn it on, then launch Premiere again.

I’m curious why you want access to the Download or Desktop folder to begin with. Can’t Adobe keep its nose out of folders that are none of its business?
