Premiere Pro Sound Issue

When I import clips from a Canon C300 Mark III recorded in 12-bit Canon Cinema RAW Lite, Canon log 2/C.Gamut, into Premiere Pro 24.1 and place them in a sequence, there are drop outs in the sound.

The sound was recorded on the camera's audio channels 3 & 4 from the built-in scratch mic on these clips.

The audio tracks in the timeline for these clips have visible waveforms, but when the playhead gets to certain, repeatable, positions in the timeline, the audio drops out completely and does not follow the waveforms. This lasts for perhaps ten seconds, and then audio resumes again.

If I export these clips from Premiere as H.264 MP4 files and play them in VLC, the sound does not drop out--it plays normally. If I create a proxies from Canon RAW Lite clips (via ingest options), the proxies do not exhibit the sound dropout. If I import files from the same camera that were recorded using the XF-AVC codec, the sound plays normally.

If I import the same clips into DaVinci Resolve, the sound plays normally.

Bottom line: Clips recorded in Canon Cimema RAW LIte on a Canon C300 Mark III experience sound drop-outs when played in a Premeire Pro 24.1 sequence.
