Premiere Pro: Swapping comp files for HD files

I rarely use Premiere, but I built a video using stock previews and now I want to buy the hi res files and swap them for the low res versions. I don't know if there is a way to do this easily. Is there one?

Correct answer Peru Bob

If the files have the same name, you can just replace the stock previews with the hi-res files in the folder that they are located.

If they have different names, rename the hi-res files so that they have the same name as the stock previews.

You may have to change the sequence settings and adjust some of the effects if they are resolution dependent.

Thanks for your reply. I just spoke ot a friend who's been a video editor for many years and he said essentially the same. He also advised importing a video of the project, making it 50% opacity, and using it as a guide for matching whatever comes in out of sync, after name matching.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
