Question

Premiere Pro taking up storage on Internal SSD when I download on external drive

I have a 😧 drive, which is a 1TB external drive. I went into Adobe Creative Cloud and changed the file location in the Menu > File > Preferences > Apps setting to a folder in the 😧 drive. However, it's still taking up a TON of storage on my internal C: drive. I went from around 10GB to 5.0MB left, so I can't do anything. I checked my settings and the file folder in my 😧 drive, and all the files from Premiere Pro is there. Can someone help?

(This also happened to Photoshop, but I'm posting it here because this is my most recent/biggest storage

I can't seem to find the Media Cahce setting in Preferences on the Creative Cloud desktop app. I also have no choice but to download it on an external drive since my internal one barely has any storage left.

It is not highly recommended to move applications to an external drive, you might be experiencing slow issues.

But, if you want to do it anyway, my suggestion is that before changing the location of the applications you clean the media caches (Preferences/Media Cache...), possibly you have a lot of media cache stored on your internal C: drive. Then right there in Preferences / Media Cache... you give it another location that should not be drive C: or drive 😧 but another drive. If you give it the location in C: it will refill tons of media cache previews, and if you set it in the 😧 it will get very slow and heavy to work with.
