Premiere Pro v15.0 Crashes All The Time

I have been working with 4k VR footage and since the update, I have not been able to work effectively. I can create a project, edit that project and export that project BUT if I ever need to open that project again it crashes the second I click anywhere on the timeline. The only solution I have found that works is creating a new project and editing the project all over again. This has been going on since the update was released.

System:

Windows 10 Pro

Intel Core i9-10980XE

Nvidia RTX 208o Ti with latest studio driver (also tried one driver earlier)

128 GB memory

I fear I will have to download an older version of PP and re-edit the entire project.

Use something like Prores or Cineform for proxies, choosing h.264 is still a compressed format.

The compression is needed with files this size.

Does it happen if you try to open a different project?

I will need to see but I don't have any other current projects using files like these. However, we have done several projects on past PP versions with this same setup and had no issues with those.

How about create a new project, then IMPORT in the problem project and see if that works.

Sorry about that, pyxisVR. What is the format of the clips?

Thanks,
Kevin

So it looks like I was wrong about the resolution but we are working with:
- 6400 x 6400 hevc mov files
proxy media:

- 2048 x 2048 h264 mp4 files (at a very low bitrate for easy playback)

crashes with primary and proxy media

We have used these same settings on past projects prior to the update without any problem. The system was built for this media.
