Question

Premiere Pro will only export to c:\Users folder v23.3

I found a strange bug in Premier Pro 23.3 on Windows 10.

When I would try to export to any folder on the C: drive once I selected the folder the file name would switch to "robert.mp4." Robert being the name of my user folder and the path would default to C:/Users.

I did not matter where on the C drive I tried to save to or what I tried to rename the file it would always switch to the first name of the user profile and c:/Users as the destination. Video folder, desktop, documents and going several folders deep. Did not matter.

Saving to external drives had no issues. The only way I was able to get it to save into the folder of choice on the C drive is if I clicked on an existing file within that folder and was setting it to REPLACE that file. But any NEW file would just default to the c:\users folder and change the file name to [user first name].mp4

As a test I went back to Premiere Pro 23.2 and did not experience that issue. So seems to be something funky with the latest version.

If anyone else has run into this and knows if it's not a bug, but some other random setting that I'm missing I'm all ears. Otherwise I guess I'll wait for 23.4 to update.
