Premiere "send to" and "queue" issues in Catalina and Creative Suite 2020

When selecting "Edit clip in Adobe Audition," Audition opens, but the clip does not.
Additionally, if I send sequences to the Media Encoder queue, Media Encoder opens - but the sequence does not show up in the queue. I have been able to 'click-and-drag' a sequence from Premiere into the Media Encoder window in order to get it to be placed in the queue.

Thankfully the link from Premiere to After Effects actually works.

This is happening on a new MBP 16" with Catalina and current version of all apps.

Hi there!

Thank you for reaching out. I see that you're getting two issues while working with Premiere Pro.

  1. When selecting "Edit clip in Adobe Audition," Audition opens, but the clip does not. -This looks like a known issue with Adobe Audition. Our Team is actively working on the fix. You can add your vote here:https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911314-audition/suggestions/38999536-audio-clip-does-not-open-in-audition-after-selecti#comments The Workaround that may help is to move the source file to the desktop, re-import in Premiere Pro and use the feature again.
  2. if I send sequences to the Media Encoder queue, Media Encoder opens - but the sequence does not show up in the queue.
  • Which version of Adobe Media Encoder are you using?
  • What happens when you directly import .prproj in the Adobe Media Encoder?

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,

Kartika

Kartika,

Thanks for the reply.  I've updated everythign to the recent releases 14.0.1 for Premiere, Audition, and Media Encoder.  I still have the issue where when sending from Premiere to either Audition or Media Encoder, the programs open up but they do not have the media or sequence loaded into the respective program.

Trying to open the project sequences from Media Encoder does seem to be a work around.  It was not working earlier (no prompt window would open).  After dragging and dropping the sequences over from Premiere that seemed to be a fix - perhaps I needed to save the PrePro project first.

There's been a number of issues with Catalina like this ... and it may be some sort of permissions or other OS-recognition issue. Yea, it's a right royal pain. I've asked around for ideas, but haven't found anything useful to pass on. Hopefully someone else has something of use.

My one workaround is to simply open the Premiere project in Audition, export the work to a Premiere file at the end, then import that into your Premiere project. Which ... is a total pain. But you can get to it then.
