Premiere unresponsive during playback
Premiere Pro has become nearly unworkable for me the past few months, with seemingly a new bug appearing out of thin air every time I start a new project.
None of which are fixable (even with help of this and other boards) and make me rack up countless of unnecessary extra hours trying to work around them.
Today's bug:
Whenever I start playback on a certain part of the timeline Premiere becomes completely unresponsive to any input. Whether it is from my touchpad or keyboard.
Pressing a key multiple times will make the interface glitch out (for lack of a better term) and the X icon in the top right corner will flash red for a second.
Plackback will only stop when Premiere feels like it, and becomes responsive again, until playback is started again.
My laptop has handled much bigger projects and much larger files before, without (these) problems, so it doesn't seem to be hardware related.
The video files all came from the same camera, with exactly the same settings, and I've edited these kinda files in the past with no problems whatsoever.
There's also plenty of storage and RAM available.
Things I've tried:
Rendering before playback
Setting playback resolution to 1/4
Restarting Premiere
Restarting laptop
Resetting preferences (incl. plug-in preferences)
Deleting media cache files
Resetting lay-out
Updating Premiere
Importing into a new project
Updating graphics card
All to no avail
