Premiere using 62gb of ram... How?

62gb of ram? Is this normal?

I've been trying to render a music video for two days but premiere always crashes because my system runs out of memory?! lol wow.

I switch the renderer to "Software Only" and trying it again now.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

    JayR,

Sometimes you can get a memory leak when updating projects from one major version to the next. I have heard a few instances of this. Could this be the trouble?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Try resetting the preferences:

FAQ: How to reset preferences in Premiere Pro?

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:

    Reset a workspace

Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.

    1. Do one of the following:
      • Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
      • Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.

    from here:

Also, make sure you've set your memory settings in preferences correctly. If you're not leaving enough for other apps your system can run out of memory during intensive playback/renders.
